Filippo Maria Visconti fue el último gobernante del Ducado de Milan de la família Visconti y Conde de Pavia entre 1402 y 1412, segundo hijo de Juan Galeás Visconti primer Duque de Milan y su segunda esposa Caterina Visconti, falleció en 1447 en Milan sin descendencia por lo que se proclamó la República Ambrosiana.
Filippo Maria Visconti was the last ruler of the Duchy of Milan from the Visconti family and Count of Pavia between 1402 and 1412. He was the second son of Giovanni Galeazzo Visconti, first Duke of Milan, and his second wife Caterina Visconti. He died in Milan in 1447 without issue, leading to the proclamation of the Ambrosian Republic.

Birreta o bonete ducal plisado (berretto), característico de la indumentaria soberana de los gobernantes de Milán en el siglo XV.
Ropaje:
Brocado rico decorado con motivos fitomorfos (margaritas/palmetas) y el águila imperial sobre el hombro/pecho, símbolo concedido a la casa Visconti por el emperador Wenceslao de Luxemburgo tras otorgar el título ducal a Gian Galeazzo Visconti en 1395.

Bust in strict profile facing right, inscribed within an oval border with a Latin cross at the top. It follows the tradition of Italian Renaissance medal portraiture (inspired by Roman imperial numismatics).
Headwear:
Pleated ducal biretta or bonnet (berretto), characteristic of the sovereign attire of the rulers of Milan in the 15th century.
Clothing:
Rich brocade decorated with plant motifs (daisies/palmettes) and the imperial eagle on the shoulder/chest, a symbol granted to the House of Visconti by Emperor Wenceslas of Luxembourg after bestowing the ducal title upon Gian Galeazzo Visconti in 1395.
