ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY

El altar y el sacrificio:
En la zona central izquierda se muestra un altar clásico decorado con grifos y un relieve festonado, sobre el que arde el fuego sacrificial.

Los animales de sacrificio:
Al cortejo ritual se incorporan sacerdotes y asistentes guiando toros, carneros y ovejas hacia el altar.

La estatua del oráculo:
En la plataforma elevada a la izquierda se observa la escultura de Apolo nudo, señalando y dictando la profecía a la procesión.

Texto:
La octava rima italiana explica cómo el rey debe abandonar a Psique sola en un risco desolado para unirse no a un mortal, sino a un ser alado terrorífico y abrasador (Cupido).

The altar and the sacrifice:

In the central left area, a classical altar decorated with griffins and a scalloped relief is depicted, upon which the sacrificial fire burns. The sacrificial animals:

Priests and attendants join the ritual procession, guiding bulls, rams, and sheep toward the altar. The statue of the oracle:

On the raised platform to the left, the sculpture of Apollo Knot is seen, pointing and dictating the prophecy to the procession. Text:

The Italian ode explains how the king must abandon Psyche alone on a desolate cliff to unite not with a mortal, but with a terrifying and fiery winged being (Cupid).
