Luis XI de Francia apodado el prudente, es recordado por sus intrigas y actividades diplomáticas, incorporo Borgoña y Picardía al Reino de Francia, es considerado como uno de los mejores reyes de Francia de la casa de Valois.

Louis XI of France, nicknamed the prudent, is remembered for his intrigues and diplomatic activities, he incorporated Burgundy and Picardy into the Kingdom of France, he is considered one of the best kings of France of the house of Valois.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY

Tocados e insignias:

El personaje lleva un sombrero de ala rematado por una corona real cerrada con prominentes flores de lis, lo que denota tanto su estatus real como la soberanía francesa. El medallón enjoyado —o joya— prendido en la cinta del sombrero refuerza la magnificencia real. Indumentaria:

Aparece representado con el atuendo de la corte francesa del siglo XV, que incluye una prenda de cuello alto cubierta por un manto forrado de armiño. Orden de caballería:

Luce de forma destacada sobre el pecho el collar de la Orden de San Miguel (*Ordre de Saint-Michel*), compuesto por veneras estilizadas unidas mediante eslabones de cadena y del que pende la medalla del arcángel San Miguel venciendo al dragón. Heráldica:

 CHARLES  ALEXANDER  CALONNE  ( 1734 - 1802 )

Charles Alexander de Calonne, fue un aristógrata Francés, Abogado, Politico y coleccionista de arte, Vizconde de Calonne, Caballero de la Orden de San Miguel entre otras distinciones, se exilio en Londres en 1787, regreso a París en 1802 con permiso de Napoleón, falleció un mes después de su llegada a Francia.

Charles Alexander de Calonne, was a French aristocrat, lawyer, politician and art collector, Viscount de Calonne, Knight of the Order of St. Michael among other distinctions, went into exile in London in 1787, returned to Paris in 1802 with Napoleon's permission, died a month after his arrival in France.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY :

Retrato:

Calonne aparece de tres cuartos, mirando hacia la derecha y hacia el espectador. Viste peluca empolvada, abrigo de cuello alto y corbata de encaje, un retrato que reproduce fielmente la pintura original de Vigée Le Brun.

Enmarcado y alegoría:

El marco ovalado que contiene el retrato descansa sobre un pedestal bajo de piedra decorado con delicados detalles florales grabados (posiblemente lirios, símbolo de Francia).

Europa Magazine fue una publicación aparecida en Londres entre  1782 y 1826 ofreciendo información de personalidades notables del Reino Unido y Europa, todo ello acompañado de  un bello grabado del personaje y realizado en buril, en ello colaboraron algunos de los grabadores Ingleses mas reputados del momento.

Europa Magazine was a publication published in London between 1782 and 1826 offering information on notable personalities of the United Kingdom and Europe, all accompanied by a beautiful engraving of the character and made in burin, in it collaborated some of the most reputable English engravers of the time.
