Henry de Daillon, Duque de Lude, Marqués de Illiers y de Bouillé, Baron de Briançon, gran maestro y capitán General de artillería de Francia, primer gentil hombre de la cámara del rey y gobernador de los castillos de Saint-Germain en Laye y Versalles, introdujo importantes mejoras en el castillo de Lude transformando la antigua fortaleza medieval en una residencia palaciega, fue un aristócrata muy cercano a Luis XIV y amigo personal de la celebre escritora Madame de Sevigne a quien hospedo en varias ocasiones en su castillo, casado en 1644 con la rica heredera Elèonore - Renée de Bouillé ( 1632- 1681 ) contrajo segundas nupcias el 6 de febrero de 1681 con Louise de Béthune ( 1642 - 1726 ) viuda del Conde de Guiche, al morir sin descendencia legó sus propiedades a su sobrino el mariscal Duque Antoine Gastón de Roquelaure.

LA LEYENDA DE LA DAMA VERDE Su primera esposa Eléonore Renée de Boillé muriṕ sin descendencia y en raras ocasiones aparecía por Versalles, la Duquesa prefería dedicarse a sus pasiones los caballos, los perros y la caza en el bosque de Charnie, retirada en el castillo de Mezangiers , su autoridad, exentricidades y masculinidad fueron objeto de leyendas y fantasías, se dice que su espectro luego de su muerte en 1681 denominado el de la " Dama Verde "ronda las estancias del castillo de Rocher en Mezangers propiedad de la família Boillé desde 1624.

The Legend of the Green Lady

Eleore Renée de Boillé, died childless; she rarely appeared at Versailles, as the Duchess preferred to devote herself to her passions: horses, dogs and hunting in the Forest of Charnie, living in seclusion at the Château de Mezangiers. Her authority, eccentricities and masculinity became the stuff of legends and fantasies; it is said that after her death in 1681, her ghost—known as the ‘Green Lady’—haunts the rooms of the Château de Rocher in Mezangiers, which has been owned by the Boillé family since 1624
