Thomas Dimsdale fue un medico Inglés, estudioso de la viruela, banquero, miembro de la Cámara de los Comunes del Reino Unido, Miembro de la Royal Society, en 1768 fue invitado a Rusia por la Emperatriz Catalina la Grande, luego de la viroalización de la propia emperatriz y de 140 miembros de la Corte fue nombrado Barón de Dimsdale, premiado con 10.000 libras y una pensión vitalicia de 500 libras anuales.

Thomas Dimsdale was an English physician, smallpox scholar, banker, member of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, Member of the Royal Society, in 1768 he was invited to Russia by Empress Catherine the Great, after the viroalization of the Empress herself and 140 members of the Court he was appointed Baron Dimsdale, awarded with 10,000 pounds and a lifetime pension of 500 pounds per year.
