Georg Wonna fue un eclesiástico protestante, estudió en la universidad de Jena y desde 1656 en la de Turímbia como becario de la Imperial ciudad de Ratisbona, en 1664 es nombrado profesor de gramática del recién creado " Gymnasium Poeticum " asesor consistorial y ministro eclesiástico de la ciudad de Ratisbona, falleció a causa de una parálisis el 30 de noviembre de 1708.

Georg Wonna was a Protestant churchman, studied at the University of Jena and from 1656 at the University of Turimbia as a scholar of the Imperial City of Regensburg. In 1664 he was appointed professor of grammar at the newly established ‘Gymnasium poeticum’ as a councillor and ecclesiastical minister of the City of Regensburg, and died of paralysis on 30 November 1708.

Con la mano derecha gesticula levemente y con la izquierda sostiene un libro (probablemente las Escrituras o un texto teológico).

Bust portrait framed within a rectangular border. The sitter wears the Lutheran ecclesiastical vestments of the period, characterized by the wide, pleated ruff (Mühlsteinkragen) and the black robe (Talar). With his right hand he gestures slightly, and with his left he holds a book (probably the Scriptures or a theological text).

EDUARDO II de INGLATERRA ( 1284 - 1325/27 )

Eduardo II fue rey de Inglaterra desde 1307 a 1325 o 27, su política de favorecer a sus favoritos y posicionarse en contra de los nobleza le hizo ganar muchos opositores, en 1325/27 fue depuesto y asesinado en el castillo de Berkeley.

Edward II was king of England from 1307 to 1325-27, his policy of favouring his favourites and taking a stand against the nobility won him many opponents, in 1325-27 he was deposed and assassinated at Berkeley Castle.

La estampa emplea un marco clasicista y alegórico típico del retrato histórico del siglo XVIII:

El retrato:

Eduardo II aparece de medio cuerpo, ligeramente girado a la derecha, mirando al frente. Luce una corona medieval estilizada, un collar/cadena de cargo ricamente ornamentado y sostiene un cetro con flor de lis en la mano izquierda. El retrato se enmarca en un marco ovalado arquitectónico con sombreado tonal.

La viñeta narrativa:

Justo debajo del marco del retrato, un panel rectangular en bajorrelieve representa una escena central de la vida del monarca: su abdicación forzada o su confinamiento en el castillo de Berkeley antes de su brutal asesinato en 1327.

Figuras alegóricas a los lados:

Izquierda:

Una figura femenina en duelo (posiblemente representando a Britania o una personificación de la Fortuna) sentada junto a una rueda, con la cabeza inclinada en señal de tristeza,

simbolizando el trágico declive del reinado de Eduardo.

Derecha:

Un soldado o carcelero con armadura de estilo contemporáneo, mirando hacia el monarca, estableciendo un vínculo temático con su encarcelamiento y deposición.

The print employs a classicizing, allegorical framework typical of 18th-century historical portraiture:

The Portrait:

Edward II is represented bust-length, turned slightly to the right, looking forward. He wears a stylized medieval crown, a heavily ornamented collar/chain of office, and holds a fleur-de-lis scepter in his left hand. The portrait is set within an architectural oval frame with cross-hatched tonal modeling.

The Narrative Vignette:

Directly beneath the portrait frame is a low-relief rectangular panel depicting a central scene from the monarch's life—specifically his forced abdication or his confinement at Berkeley Castle prior to his brutal murder in 1327.

Flanking Allegorical Figures:

Left:

A mourning female figure (possibly representing Britannia or a personification of Fortune) seated next to a wheel, her head bowed in sorrow, symbolizing the tragic downturn of Edward's reign.

Right:
