Luis IV de Francia, apodado d'Outremer (Luis IV de Ultramar), quien fue el trigésimo segundo rey de Francia (perteneciente a la dinastía carolingia) y gobernó en el siglo X.
Louis IV of France, nicknamed d'Outremer (Louis IV of Overseas), who was the thirty-second king of France (belonging to the Carolingian dynasty) and ruled in the 10th century.

El rey aparece retratado de perfil, con un estilo clasicista, mirando hacia la derecha y luciendo una corona medieval con motivos de flor de lis. El marco simula un medallón de piedra sobre un pedestal, una fórmula neoclásica muy popular en las series de retratos históricos de la Francia del siglo XVIII.
He king is presented in a classicizing profile view, facing right, donning a medieval crown with fleur-de-lis motifs. The frame simulates a stone medallion resting on a plinth, a highly popular neoclassically-inflected formula for historical portrait series in 18th-century France.
