Esta pieza es ejemplo de la estampa religiosa popular catalana, muy probablemente la cabecera o el grabado central de un pliego de Goigs (gozos) o una estampa devocional exenta, impresa en la localidad de Olot (Girona).

This piece is an example of popular Catalan religious prints, most likely the header or central engraving of a sheet of Goigs (joys) or a separate devotional print, printed in the town of Olot (Girona).

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY :

La Virgen del Remedio:
La iconografía central muestra a la Virgen en posición estante bajo un arco de medio punto texturizado y cortinajes recogidos a los lados, emulando un altar o camarín.

Viste manto regio de amplio vuelo con decoración floral esquemática.

Sostiene al Niño Jesús en su brazo izquierdo (quien porta el globo terráqueo) y un cetro o ramo de flores en la mano derecha.

Está coronada y aureolada por un resplandor de rayos limpios, apoyada sobre la media luna creciente invertida, un atributo clásico de la Inmaculada Concepción asimilado por otras advocaciones marianas.
La Orla Perimetral:
De un marcado gusto barroco tardío o clasicismo popular:
Superior:
Un gran dosel o pabellón textil cupulado que corona la escena sagrada.
Laterales:
Dos ángeles (putti) de cuerpo entero actúan como soporte heráldico o flanqueadores, sosteniendo gruesos cirios encendidos.
Inferior:
En la base del enmarcado vegetal y de rocalla, destaca un cartucho con el monograma IHS (simbolizando el nombre de Jesús) rematado por una pequeña cruz sobre la H.

Our Lady of Remedies:
The central iconography depicts the Virgin standing beneath a textured semicircular arch, with draperies gathered at the sides, emulating an altar or niche.
She wears a flowing royal mantle with stylized floral decoration.
She holds the Child Jesus in her left arm (who carries the globe) and a scepter or bouquet of flowers in her right hand.
She is crowned and haloed by a radiant glow of clear rays, resting upon an inverted crescent moon, a classic attribute of the Immaculate Conception adopted by other Marian devotions.
The Perimeter Border:
In a distinctly late Baroque or popular classicist style:
Upper:
A large canopy or domed textile pavilion crowns the sacred scene.
Later:
Two full-length angels (putti) act as heraldic supporters or flankers, holding thick, lit candles.
Lower:
At the base of the vegetal and rockery frame, a cartouche stands out with the monogram IHS (symbolizing the name of Jesus) topped by a small cross over the H.
