FILIPPO MARIA VISCONTI  ( 1392 - 1447 )

Filippo Maria Visconti fue el último gobernante del Ducado de Milan de la família Visconti y Conde de Pavia entre 1402 y 1412, segundo hijo de Juan Galeás Visconti primer Duque de Milan y su segunda esposa Caterina Visconti, falleció en 1447 en Milan sin descendencia por lo que se proclamó la República Ambrosiana. 

Filippo Maria Visconti was the last ruler of the Duchy of Milan from the Visconti family and Count of Pavia between 1402 and 1412. He was the second son of Giovanni Galeazzo Visconti, first Duke of Milan, and his second wife Caterina Visconti. He died in Milan in 1447 without issue, leading to the proclamation of the Ambrosian Republic.

CARLOS ALEJANDRO DE LORENA  ( 1712 -1780 )

Carlos Alejandro de Lorena fue un noble. general  austriaco y gobernador de los paises bajos Austriacos hijo de Leopoldo I de Lorena y de Isabel Carlota de Borbón y Orleans, su hermano Francisco  fue emperador del Sacro Imperio Romano Germánico con el nombre de Francisco I, en 1756 fue nombrado gran maestre de la orden teutónica.

Charles Alexander of Lorraine was an Austrian nobleman, general, and governor of the Austrian Netherlands. He was the son of Leopold I of Lorraine and Elizabeth Charlotte of Bourbon-Orléans. His brother Francis was Holy Roman Emperor under the name Francis I. In 1756, he was appointed Grand Master of the Teutonic Order.

ICONOGRAFIA / ICONOGRAPHY:
El retrato emplea un marco arquitectónico clasicista, popular en la retratística europea de alto estatus:

El retratado está enmarcado por un borde ovalado de impecable factura, sobre un pedestal arquitectónico adornado con volutas y guirnaldas de laurel o hojas de roble que simbolizan la victoria y la virtud cívica.

Atuendo militar:
Carlos Alejandro aparece representado con un estilo a la vez antiguo y contemporáneo, vistiendo una coraza y hombreras de armadura de placas pulidas, parcialmente cubierto por una capa militar (paludamentum) sujeta al hombro.
Los atributos:
Justo debajo del marco ovalado, sobre el borde, se encuentran atributos militares o heráldicos, incluyendo lo que parece ser una corona o una insignia específica sobre un cojín, flanqueada por trofeos militares decorativos (cascos con penachos) en la parte inferior, reforzando su papel como mariscal de campo imperial .

The Framework:
The sitter is framed within an immaculately rendered oval border, resting upon an architectural plinth or pedestal adorned with volutes and laurel or oak leaf swags symbolizing victory and civic virtue.

Military Attire:
Charles Alexander is depicted à l'antique and in contemporary fashion simultaneously, wearing a highly polished plate armor breastplate and Pauldrons (shoulder defense), partially draped in a military cloak (paludamentum) fastened at the shoulder.
The Attributes:
Placed directly beneath the oval frame on the ledge are military or heraldic attributes—including what appears to be a coronet or a specific insignia resting on a cushion, flanked by decorative military trophies (plumed helmets) on the lower flanks, reinforcing his role as an imperial field marshal (Feldmarschall)
