17th century engraving
Henry of Habsburg was the fifth son of King Albert I of Habsburg of Germany and Queen Elizabeth of Carinthia (of Tyrol/Gorizia). He held the titles of Duke of Austria and Styria alongside his older brothers (Frederick "the Fair," Leopold I, Albert II, and Otto "the Joy").
In 1314, he married Countess Isabella of Virneburg (whom later French tradition often confuses with or associates with branches of the Kyburg dynasty due to related dynastic ties). The marriage was childless, and his biological line became extinct upon his death.
Henry actively supported his brother Frederick the Fair in the struggle for the throne of the Holy Roman Empire against Louis IV of Bavaria. In the decisive Battle of Mühldorf (September 28, 1322), the Habsburg forces suffered a severe defeat, and Henry was taken prisoner along with Frederick and more than a thousand Austrian nobles.
He spent several years imprisoned in the Bohemian castle of Bürglitz (Křivoklát). He was released after The payment of a ransom of 3,000 ducats and the renunciation of various territorial rights in Znojmo and Laa.
Physically weakened and consumed by the harsh conditions he endured during his imprisonment, he died in 1327 at the age of 27 in Bruck an der Mur. His remains were buried in the Abbey of Königsfelden (Switzerland), a pantheon erected by the Habsburg family.

OBSERVACIONES / OBSERVATION
The image is not a 14th-century portrait painted from life, but rather an idealized iconographic reconstruction typical of the 18th century. During this period, European royal houses commissioned engraved genealogical compendiums to exalt the antiquity and legitimacy of their dynasties (in this case, the House of Habsburg), dressing the subject in anachronistic, historically fantastical attire.
