Pierre Boquin fue un teólogo protestante, se doctoro en teologia por la universidad de Bourges, en 1542 ingreso en la facultad de la Academia de Estrasburgo como sucesor de Juan Calvino, impartió clases en la Universidad de Bourges bajo la protección de la Reina Margarita de Navarra, acusado por sus ideas protestantes ante el arzobispo de París, se traslado en 1555 a Estrasburgo ejerciendo como predicador, en 1557 fue nombrado catedrático de Teología en la Universidad de Heidelberg bajo el patrocinio de Federico III, cuando Federico falleció en 1576 su hijo elector Luis VI devolvió el Palatinado a la confesión Luterana por lo que Bouquin perdió su puesto, en 1578 se traslado a Lausanne como predicador falleciendo en dicha ciudad en 1582.
Pierre Boquin was a protestant theologian, he received his doctorate in theology from The University of Bourges, in 1542 he entered the faculty of The Academy of Strasbourg as successor of John Calvin, he taught at The University of Bourges under the protection of Queen Marguerite of Navarre, accused by his protestant ideas before the Archbishop of Paris, in 1557 he was appointed professor of theology at the University of Heidelberg under the patronage of Frederick III, when Frederick died in 1576, his son Louis VI returned the Palatinated to the Lutheran confession, so Boquin lost his post, in 1578 he moved to Lausanne as a preacher and died in that city in 1582.
