Composición alegórica que representa a tres querubines alados dedicados al estudio de las matemáticas y las ciencias. A la izquierda, una mesa cubierta con un mantel sostiene una esfera armilar o globo celeste junto a un poliedro regular (dodecaedro o cubo). Un querubín sostiene un compás sobre un manuscrito o diagrama abierto, otro sujeta una escuadra grande apuntando hacia un dramático rayo en zigzag que desciende de las nubes, mientras que un tercero se sienta junto a un libro abierto que muestra un triángulo y una estrella. La escena simboliza la filosofía natural, la geometría, la astronomía y el estudio de los fenómenos naturales.

An allegorical composition featuring three winged putti engaged in mathematical and scientific study. On the left, a draped table holds an armillary sphere or celestial globe alongside a regular polyhedron (dodecahedron or cube). One putto holds a pair of dividers over an open manuscript or diagram, another grasps a large set square pointed toward a dramatic zig-zagging bolt of lightning descending from the clouds, while a third sits beside an open book showing a triangle and a star. The scene symbolizes natural philosophy, geometry, astronomy, and the study of natural phenomena

Louis XV apodado el buen amado fue Rey de Francia y de Navarra de 1710 a 1774, Duque d'Anjou y coprincipe de Andorra entre otros títulos nobiliarios, durante su minoria de edad Francia fue gobernada por su primo Felipe de Orleans como regente de Francia ( 1674 - 1723 )

Louis XV nicknamed The Good Beloved was King of France amd Navarre from 1710 to 1774, Duke of Anjou and Co-prince of Andorra among other noble titles, during his minotity France was ruled by his cousin Philippe d'Orleans as regent of France  ( 1674 - 1723 )

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY :

Estructura: 

Sigue el modelo clásico del retrato regio barroco y clasicista francés. El joven monarca se inscribe dentro de un óvalo o tondo perfilado por una moldura, dispuesto sobre un suntuoso pedestal arquitectónico calcáreo que funciona como cartela para la inscripción identificativa. 

 Atuendo e insignias: 

A pesar de su corta edad, viste ricas telas brocadas con motivos florales (típicas de la corte de la Regencia y los inicios de su reinado efectivo). Porta la banda de la Orden del Espíritu Santo (Ordre du Saint-Esprit) cruzando su pecho, y la placa heráldica correspondiente cosida a la casaca. Su mano derecha reposa firmemente sobre la corona real, que descansa en un cojín a la izquierda, reafirmando la legitimidad de su soberanía institucional.

Structure:

It follows the classic model of the French Baroque and Classicist royal portrait. The young monarch is depicted within an oval or tondo framed by a molding, set upon a sumptuous limestone architectural pedestal that serves as a cartouche for the identifying inscription.

Attire and insignia:

Despite his young age, he wears rich brocaded fabrics with floral motifs (typical of the Regency court and the beginning of his effective reign). He wears the sash of the Order of the Holy Spirit (Ordre du Saint-Esprit) across his chest, and the corresponding heraldic badge is sewn onto his coat. His right hand rests firmly on the royal crown, which sits on a cushion to the left, reaffirming the legitimacy of his institutional sovereignty

La estampa representa a Luis XV de niño (accedió al trono francés en febrero de 1715, a los 5 años, bajo la regencia de Felipe II, duque de Orleans, hasta alcanzar la mayoría de edad en febrero de 1723). La iconografía del retrato refleja los primeros años de su reinado, antes de sus retratos de coronación como joven maduro.

The print depicts Louis XV as a young child (he acceded to the French throne in February 1715 at age 5, under the regency of Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, until reaching his legal majority in February 1723). The portrait's iconography reflects the early years of his reign before his coronation portraits as a mature youth.

ASUNCIÓN DE MARÍA / ASSUMPTION OF MARY

Asunción de María es una creencia de las iglesias Cristianas donde el cuerpo y el alma de la Virgen María subieron al cielo luego de acabar sus días en la tierra.

Assumption of Mary is a belief of the Christian churches that the body and soul of the Virgin Mary ascended to heaven after finishing her days on earth. 

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY

La composición representa la Asunción de la Virgen María (o la Apoteosis/Glorificación de una santa o alma femenina). La figura central aparece en pleno movimiento, ascendiendo al Cielo sentada o recostada sobre una nube. Sus brazos están extendidos en actitud de oración, éxtasis y entrega, con la mirada fija en un resplandor divino o halo que se abre paso entre densas nubes de tormenta. Está sostenida y acompañada por varios querubines alados (putti) y un ángel a su izquierda que sostiene su manto ondeante.

The composition represents the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (or an Apotheosis/Glorification of a female saint or soul). The central figure is depicted in full motion, ascending to Heaven while seated or resting upon a cloud. Her arms are outstretched in an attitude of prayer, ecstasy, and surrender, with her gaze directed upward toward a divine radiance or halo breaking through heavy storm clouds. She is supported and accompanied by several winged cherubs (putti) and an accompanying angel on the left who holds her flowing mantle.

Jean de Rokycana  ( 1396? - 1471 )

Jean de Rokycana fue un teólogo Hussita Arzobispo de Praga entre 1435 y 1471, músico, filosofo y hombre de letras es considerado una de las figuras mas importantes de la iglésia de Bohemia del siglo XV.

Jean de Rokycana was a Hussite theologian, Archbishop of Prague between 1435 and 1471, musician, philosopher and man of letters and is considered one of the most important figures of the Bohemian church in the 15th century.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY:

Fue una figura clave de la iglesia utraquista (husita moderada) en Bohemia. Elegido arzobispo de Praga por los estados en 1435, su cargo fue un punto álgido de la diplomacia eclesiástica; nunca fue reconocido formalmente por el Papado, lo que explica su complejo legado en la historiografía europea contemporánea y posterior.

He was a pivotal figure of the Utraquist (moderate Hussite) church in Bohemia. Elected Archbishop of Prague by the estates in 1435, his position was a flashpoint of ecclesiastical diplomacy; he was never formally recognized by the Papacy, which accounts for his complicated legacy in contemporary and subsequent European historiography.
