Ercole Piganti fue un destacado jurista, consejero, senador, y abogado de asuntos públicos en la Ferrara de la primera mitad del Siglo XVII.
Ercole Piganti was a prominent jurist, councillor, senator and public affairs lawyer in Ferrara during the first half of the 17th century.

En la inscripción inferior del grabado se observa la inscripción en Latín EFFIGIES HERCULIS PIGANTI, FERRAIREN I.C. AETATIA ANNORUM LXIII, las sigla I.C. corresponden a Iuris Consultus y Ferrarien indica su origen en Ferrara.
The inscription at the bottom of the engraving reads, in Latin: EFFIGIES HERCULIS PIGANTI, FERRAIREN I.C. AETATIA ANNORUM LXIII. The initials I.C. stand for Iuris Consultus, and ‘Ferrarien’ indicates that he was from Ferrara.
Aeatia Annorum indica que el jurista fue retratado a la edad de 63 años.
The *Aeatia Annorum* states that the jurist was depicted at the age of 63.
El grabado calcografico se inserta en una estructura monumental de orden corintio que descansan en columnas decorado el interior del grabado con guirnaldas y una corona de laurel que rodea un pedestal con la figura de Ercole Piganti ataviado con las vestiduras clásicas de un jurisconsulto del siglo XVII y rematando la composición en el centro superior del grabado el escudo heráldico del personaje.
The intaglio engraving is set within a monumental Corinthian structure supported by columns; the interior of the engraving is decorated with garlands and a laurel wreath encircling a pedestal bearing the figure of Ercole Piganti, dressed in the classical robes of a 17th-century jurist, with the figure’s coat of arms crowning the composition at the top centre.
