FRANCISCUS COSTERUS ( 1532 - 1619 )
Franciscus Costerus fue un jesuita, teólogo y escritor de Amberes, recibido por el propio San Ignacio cuando aun era joven es enviado a Colonia impartiendo clases de Astronomía y Sagradas Escrituras en 1564 la Universidad de Colonia le concedió el Doctorado en filosofía y teología, fue provincial de Belgica y asistió a tres congregaciones jesuitas generales, su obra mas importante fue el "Echiridion Controversiarum praecipuarum nostri temporis de Religiona amplado por el mismo en sus distintas ediciones y traducido a distintos idiomas, falleció en Bruselas en 1619.
Franciscus Costerus was a Jesuit, theologian and writer from Antwerp, who was received by St Ignatius himself when he was still a young man; he was sent to Cologne to teach astronomy and the Holy Scriptures. In 1564, the University of Cologne awarded him a doctorate in philosophy and theology; he served as Provincial of Belgium and attended three General Congregations of the Jesuits. His most important work was the *Echiridion Controversiarum praecipuarum nostri temporis de Religione*, which he expanded in its various editions and which was translated into several languages. He died in Brussels in 1619.
