Iohannes Ryhiner fue un comerciante de telas Suizo, jurista y eclesiastico miembro del consejo de los trece de la ciudad de Basilea y alcalde de la misma, es recordado por un tratado de telas y tintas que se uso durante buena parte del siglo XIX.
Iohannes Ryhiner was a Swiss cloth merchant, jurist and ecclesiastic member of the council of thirteen of the city of Vasel and mayor of the same, is remembered for a treatise on fabric and dyes that was used for much of the nineteenth century.
ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY :
Ryhiner aparece representado con el atuendo magistral tradicional de Basilea, caracterizado por la ancha gorguera almidonada (Krause) y las voluminosas túnicas negras. Se encuentra junto a un escritorio con plumas, tinteros y libros, y sostiene un documento: atributos iconográficos típicos de la autoridad administrativa y la alfabetización.
Heráldica:
El escudo central presenta una media luna bajo dos estrellas, una variante o distintivo específico de la prominente familia patricia Ryhiner de Basilea.
Ryhiner is depicted in traditional Basel magisterial attire, characterized by the wide, starched ruff (Krause) and voluminous black robes. He stands by a writing desk containing quills, inkwells, and books, holding a document—standard iconographic attributes of administrative authority and literacy.
