Escena campestre corresponde a una interesante versión grabada basada en la célebre composición de Jean-Antoine Watteau (1684–1721) titulada L'Heureux âge! Age d'or (¡Feliz edad! Edad de oro), cuyo original pictórico se conserva en el Kimbell Art Museum (Fort Worth, Texas).

This print is an interesting engraved version based on the famous painting by Jean-Antoine Watteau (1684–1721) entitled *L'Heureux âge! Age d'or* (*Happy Age! Golden Age*), the original of which is held at the Kimbell Art Museum (Fort Worth, Texas).

Venus Anadyomene

Venus Anadyomene es una representación iconográfica de la Diosa afrodita saliendo del mar.

Venus Anadyodeme is an iconographic representation of the Aphrodite Godnes emerging from the sea.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY

Tema central:

Venus Anadyomene («Venus emergiendo del mar»), representada recostada semidesnuda sobre una gran criatura marina/concha-vehículo en el agua, mientras se retuerce o arregla su larga cabellera con ambas manos. Figuras acompañantes:

Tres querubines (cupidos). Uno vuela en nubes estilizadas sosteniendo una guirnalda floral; otro se encuentra detrás de Venus en el vehículo marino sosteniendo una flecha/antorcha; el tercero se sitúa en primer plano inferior sosteniendo riendas o un arco cerca de la cabeza de la criatura. Una nereida o criatura marina es visible al fondo a la izquierda. Fondo y primer plano:

Un paisaje costero lejano con montañas estilizadas y estructuras arquitectónicas en la orilla. En primer plano se aprecian conchas marinas, plantas marinas y formaciones de coral detalladas a lo largo de la costa.

Central Subject:

Venus Anadyomene ("Venus rising from the sea"), depicted reclining semi-nude atop a large sea creature/shell-car in the water while wringing or arranging her long hair with both hands.

Accompanying Figures:

Three putti (cupids). One flies above in stylized clouds holding a floral garland; one stands behind Venus on the sea vehicle holding an arrow/torch; one stands in the lower foreground holding reins or a bow near the creature's head. A nereid or mer-creature is visible in the background on the left.

Background & Foreground:

A distant coastal landscape featuring stylized mountains and architectural structures on the shoreline. The immediate foreground showcases detailed seashells, marine plants, and coral formations along the shore.
