Aristóteles fue un polímata, filosofo y cientifico griego nacido en Estagira al norte de la antigua grecia es considerado junto a Platón el padre de la filosofía moderna.
Aristotle was a Greek polymath, philosopher and scientist born in Stagira in northern ancient Greece and is considered, along with Plato, the father of modern philosophy.

El modelado del rostro y los ropajes se soluciona mediante un denso tramado de líneas paralelas y cruzadas ejecutadas a buril, mientras que el fondo oscuro del óvalo recurre a una retícula muy tupida para forzar el contraste y resaltar el perfil.

The modeling of the face and clothing is achieved through a dense network of parallel and crossed lines executed with a burin, while the dark background of the oval uses a very dense grid to force the contrast and highlight the profile.

Una de las particularidades más destacadas de esta estampa, identificada en repertorios de colecciones históricas (como la Herzog August Bibliothek de Wolfenbüttel y la Wellcome Collection, núm. 587i), es la inclusión de un anagrama en el segundo verso. La frase final ARTIS ENIM IPSE LEO EST es un juego de letras exacto que se reordena para formar el nombre del filósofo: ARISTOTELES.Representación:
Siguiendo la tradición iconográfica del Renacimiento tardío y el Barroco para los filósofos de la antigüedad, Aristóteles no es retratado con ropajes de la Grecia clásica, sino de perfil, portando una vestimenta académica de época bajomedieval o renacentista, un manto ribeteado con lo que simula ser piel o armiño y un tocado o bonete ajustado a la cabeza. Presenta además una barba larga y tupida, atributo clásico de la sabiduría.

Following the iconographic tradition of the late Renaissance and Baroque periods for philosophers of antiquity, Aristotle is not portrayed in the robes of classical Greece, but rather in profile, wearing academic attire from the late Middle Ages or Renaissance, a cloak trimmed with what appears to be fur or ermine, and a headdress or cap fitted to his head.
