Composición:
El retratado aparece de tres cuartos, mirando al espectador desde un marco ovalado. Viste un solideo (zucchetto), cabello largo y ondulado, un bigote prominente y un cuello blanco típico de la indumentaria italiana de mediados del siglo XVII. El marco ovalado descansa sobre un pesado pedestal o zócalo de piedra rústica.
Composition:
The sitter is depicted in a three-quarter view, looking toward the viewer from within an oval frame. He wears a skullcap (zucchetto), long wavy hair, a prominent mustache, and a white collar typical of mid-17th-century Italian attire. The oval frame rests upon a heavy, rusticated stone pedestal or plinth.

Este grabado fue realizado para servir como retrato-frontispice de la célebre obra de Lippi, Il Malmantile Racquistato, un poema heroico-cómico escrito bajo el anagrama de Perlone Zipoli.
Aunque la inscripción en la plancha muestra la fecha 1767 (o 1787, debido a una ligera variante o desgaste en la tipografía de la cifra), la edición impresa por Prault en París en la que se incluyó habitualmente este frontispicio se publicó en 1768.
This engraving was created to serve as a frontispiece for Lippi's celebrated work, Il Malmantile Racquistato, a heroic-comic poem written under the pseudonym Perlone Zipoli.
Although the inscription on the plate shows the date 1767 (or 1787, due to a slight variation or wear in the typography of the number), the edition printed by Prault in Paris, in which this frontispiece was usually included, was published in 1768.
