Este es un excelente ejemplo de xilografía religiosa popular catalana, que probablemente data del siglo XVIII (o posiblemente de finales del siglo XVII). Representa al Niño Jesús como el Santo Salvador (Sant Salvador / Salvator Mundi), propio de un culto o santuario local de Cataluña.

This is an excellent example of popular Catalan religious printmaking (xilografia devocional), likely dating to the 18th century (or possibly late 17th century). It depicts the Child Jesus as the Holy Savior (Sant Salvador / Salvator Mundi), specific to a local cult or shrine in Catalonia.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY

Representación del Niño Jesús Salvadoreño sentado sobre una nube, sostenido por un elaborado pedestal o altar barroco. Su mano derecha está alzada en gesto de bendición (benedictio latina), mientras que su mano izquierda sostiene el globo crucífero (orbe con una cruz). Un vexillum/estandarte con la inscripción "IESVS" reposa sobre su hombro izquierdo. Lleva una aureola triangular formada por rayos. La figura central está enmarcada en un nicho arqueado, flanqueado por columnas clasicistas con capiteles jónicos/corintios, con dos putti desnudos de pie sobre repisas arquitectónicas en los paneles laterales superiores.

Depiction of the Christ Child (Salvator Mundi / Niño Jesús Salvadoreño) seated upon a cloud supported by an ornate Baroque pedestal or altar structure. His right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing (benedictio latina), while his left hand holds the globus cruciger (orb with a cross). A vexillum/banner inscribed with "IESVS" rests against his left shoulder. He wears a triangular halo composed of rays. The central figure is framed within an arched niche, flanked by classicizing columns with Ionic/Corinthian capitals, with two nude putti standing atop architectural ledges in upper side panels.

Representa al Papa León I (León el Grande) con vestimentas papales, tiara y sosteniendo una cruz papal (férula), mientras levanta la mano derecha en señal de bendición. Atila el Huno aparece arrodillado ante el Papa León I en señal de sumisión, acompañado de soldados al fondo, en una escena que representa el famoso encuentro en el río Po en el año 452 d. C. El cuadro está rodeado por un elaborado marco decorativo con ángeles, querubines, arabescos florales y una custodia flanqueada por ángeles en actitud de adoración en la parte superior central.

Depicts Pope Leo I (Leo the Great) wearing papal vestments, a tiara, and holding a papal cross staff (ferula) while raising his right hand in blessing.

Attila the Hun is shown kneeling before Pope Leo I in submission, accompanied by soldiers in the background, depicting the famous encounter at the Po River in 452 AD.

Surrounded by an ornate decorative frame featuring angels, cherubs, floral arabesque scrollwork, and a monstrance flanked by worshipping angels at the top center.
