Carlos de Gontault, Duke of Biron, was a French nobleman and military officer, Marshal of France, who played an important role in the Wars of Religion and participated in the Franco-Savoyard War.

Retrato Central:
El busto ovalado representa a Charles de Gontaut, Duque de Biron, ataviado con armadura de época (finales del siglo XVI) y banda militar cruzada sobre el pecho. Su mirada frontal y el rostro barbado transmiten autoridad militar y estatus.
Trofeos Superiores (Ángulos y Parte Superior):
Panoplia Clásica:
Dos armaduras de tipo romano erigidas sobre picas en los ángulos superiores, acompañadas de estandartes, cascos militares emplumados, hachas de guerra y alabardas. Simbolizan el mando supremo, la gloria militar y las victorias en el campo de batalla.
Artillería:
Cañones cruzados y atados en la parte superior central, representando el poder de la artillería y la capacidad de asedio.

A la izquierda, una figura empuñando una antorcha encendida (simbolizando la Discordia, la Guerra o el Furor).
A la derecha, una Furia con cabello de serpientes (posiblemente Tisífone o Medusa/Envidia) sosteniendo víboras en las manos, evocando el horror de la guerra, la traición o el destino fatal del retratado.
Figuras Vencidas / Caídas:
En la parte inferior, figuras masculinas yaces o encadenadas entre ruinas e instrumentos de combate, representando a los enemigos derrotados o el sometimiento por las armas.
