Pierre Lalemant fue un erufito y eclesiástico francés rector del  College du Cardinal Lemoine de la Universidad de París y prior de la abadia de Sainte Geneieve.

Pierre Lalemant was a french ecclesiastic, canon of Saint 'Augustin, rector of The College du Cardinal Lemoine and of the Université de Paris, prior of the Abbey of Sainte Geneiveve de Paris and Chancelier of The Université of Paris.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY

La figura retratada se encuentra enmarcada en un marco ovalado formal sobre un pedestal, vestida con ornamentos religiosos y académicos (sobrepelliz y manto académico). Debajo del óvalo se halla un escudo heráldico que muestra un libro abierto (que simboliza la universidad/cancillería), coronado por insignias eclesiásticas y motivos de flor de lis.

The sitter is depicted in a formal oval frame resting on a pedestal, dressed in religious and academic vestments (surplice/rochet and academic mantle). Below the oval sits a heraldic coat of arms displaying an open book (symbolizing the university/chancellorship) surmounted by ecclesiastical insignia and fleur-de-lis motifs.
