Jeanne-Anne Poncet de la Riviere, Condesa de Carcado fue una aristógrata Francesa, publico diferentes libros de carácter moralista influenciado por el carisma de San Francisco de Sales.

Jeanne-Anne Poncet de la Riviere, Countess de Carcado was a French aristocrat, she published several books of moralistic character influenced by the charisma of St. Francis de Sales.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY

El retrato utiliza la clásica técnica del trampantojo, donde el marco ovalado reposa sobre un pedestal o tablilla de piedra simulada que contiene el verso dedicatorio. Esta disposición fue popularizada por maestros grabadores como Charles-Étienne Gaucher, Augustin de Saint-Aubin o los talleres de la familia Drevet.

Vestimenta de la retratada:

Luce un peinado o gorro de estilo alto de finales del siglo XVIII (bonnet à la papillon o gorro de día pequeño), una blusa/fichú con volantes y un vestido oscuro adornado con lo que parece ser una pequeña condecoración o medalla/cruz prendida en su pecho izquierdo, lo que refleja el énfasis del verso en su profunda piedad ("Sa Pieté profonde active mais affable"
