JOHANN GEORG ERNEST ( 1611 - 1674 )
Teólogo protestante nacido el 15 de noviembre de 1611 y fallecido el 2 de mayo de 1674 (según indica la inscripción superior: "Natus 1611... Denatus 1674"). Ejerció como pastor durante 40 años ("Anno Ministerij 40") en la iglesia de Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux (San Pedro el Viejo) en Estrasburgo ("Argent.[oratensis] Ecclesiæ Add. Sen. Petri Pastor").
Protestant theologian born on November 15, 1611, and died on May 2, 1674 (as indicated by the inscription above: "Natus 1611... Denatus 1674"). He served as a pastor for 40 years ("Anno Ministerij 40") at the church of Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux (Saint Peter the Old) in Strasbourg ("Argent.[oratensis] Ecclesiæ Add. Sen. Petri Pastor").

(activo en Estrasburgo hacia finales del siglo XVII y principios del XVIII). La dirección al pie de la plancha indica: "Strasburg Zu finden bey Johann Tscherning Auf S. Thomas Plan". Esto denota que se trata de un estado comercializado (o una reedición posterior de la plancha original de Aubry) por Tscherning en su taller de la plaza de San Tomás en Estrasburgo.
(active in Strasbourg towards the end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th centuries). The address at the bottom of the plate reads: "Strasburg Zu finden bey Johann Tscherning Auf S. Thomas Plan". This indicates that it is a commercially produced print (or a later reissue of Aubry's original plate) by Tscherning in his workshop on St. Thomas Square in Strasbourg.

Since the engraving commemorates the death of the character in 1674, it is attributed to Peter Aubry II / III (c. 1610–1686), a member of the celebrated dynasty of engravers and publishers active in Strasbourg, differentiating him from the first Peter Aubry (1596–1666).

El texto exalta las virtudes morales y teológicas del pastor, un epigrama redactado por M. Elias Rebeus (co-pastor de la misma iglesia), cuyo nombre aparece en la esquina inferior derecha ("M. Elias Rebeus ad D. Sen Petri Pastor"):
