Composición alegórica que representa a tres querubines alados dedicados al estudio de las matemáticas y las ciencias. A la izquierda, una mesa cubierta con un mantel sostiene una esfera armilar o globo celeste junto a un poliedro regular (dodecaedro o cubo). Un querubín sostiene un compás sobre un manuscrito o diagrama abierto, otro sujeta una escuadra grande apuntando hacia un dramático rayo en zigzag que desciende de las nubes, mientras que un tercero se sienta junto a un libro abierto que muestra un triángulo y una estrella. La escena simboliza la filosofía natural, la geometría, la astronomía y el estudio de los fenómenos naturales.
