BarthélemI Tremblet fue un escultor Francés al servicio del Rey Enrique IV de Francia trabajo principalmente en el Castillo de Pau en el palacio de Fontanieblau y en el Louvre .

Barthélemi Tremblet was a French sculptor on the service of King Henry IV of France . He worked mainly on the Château de Pau, the Fontanieblau Palace and the Louvre.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY:

Tremblay aparece de medio cuerpo, de perfil izquierdo, mirando hacia el espectador. Viste un prominente cuello almidonado, característico de principios del siglo XVII, un jubón abotonado con mangas acanaladas o con aberturas, y luce un bigote estilizado y una barba puntiaguda.

Marco:

El retrato está enmarcado por un marco ovalado, ricamente ornamentado, de estilo cartilaginoso o auricular (ohrmuschelstil), rematado por una grotesca cabeza de máscara o follaje en el vértice, flanqueada por hojas de laurel u olivo.

Tremblay is shown half-length, facing three-quarters left, looking toward the viewer. He wears a prominent, crisp starched collar characteristic of the early 17th century, a buttoned doublet with slashed or striated sleeves, and sports a stylized mustache and pointed beard.
Frame:
The portrait is enclosed within a highly ornate, oval cartilaginous or Auricular style (ohrmuschelstil) border frame, surmounted by a grotesque masqueron or foliate head at the apex, flanked by laurel or olive leaves.
