Robert Duval, Robbert Duval o Roberto van der Aven fue un pintor y Grabador Holandés, pintor Real en la Corte de Guillermo III de Inglaterra, fue encargado de la decoración del palacio d, Hamptoncourt, sus obras abarcan principalmente temas alegóricos, mitológicos y retratos, en 1682 fue nombrado director de la academia de la haya, falleció el 22 de Enero de 1732 a la edad de 88 años.

Robert Duval, Robbert Duval or Robert van der Aven was a Dutch painter and engraver, Royal painter at the Court of William III of England, was in charge of the decoration of the palace d, Hamptoncourt, his works include mainly allegorical, mythological themes and portraits, in 1682 he was appointed director of the academy of the beech, died on January 22, 1732 at the age of 88 years.

El retrato ovalado se enmarca dentro de un elaborado marco arquitectónico clásico, con un pesado dintel adornado con hojas de laurel.
