Pio IV de nombre secular Giovanni Angelo Medici di Marignano una rama menor de los medici fue papa entre 1559 y 1565, luego del conclave mas largo del siglo XVI y de recibir la ayuda del monarca Español Felipe II colaboró en impulsar el concilio de trento, estrecho los lazos de buena concordia con las diferentes casas reinantes del momento.
Pius IV of secular name Giovanni Angelo Medici di Marignano a minor branch of the Medici was pope between 1559 and 1565, after the longest conclave of the 16th century and after receiving the help of the Spanish monarch Philip II he collaborated in promoting the Council of Trent, he tightened the bonds of good concord with the different reigning houses of the time.
