Teodorico II fue Conde de Holanda desde 959 hasta su muerte en 988, fue hijo de Teodorico I de Frísia y de Heva de Hamalant.

Theodoric II was Count of Holland from 959 until his death on 988, son of Theodoric I of Frisia and Heva of Hamalant.

Como la mayoría de las primeras series de los Condes de Holanda, este es un «criptoretrato» retrospectivo e idealizado. Dirk II aparece representado con un atuendo estilizado y exótico de estilo renacentista/moderno temprano, con un sombrero suave y emplumado, una pesada capa de brocado y una barba prominente, que se ajusta a las convenciones de los siglos XVII y XVIII para representar a la nobleza medieval, en lugar de la vestimenta auténtica del siglo X.

Like most early series of the Counts of Holland, this is a retrospective, idealized "crypto-portrait." Dirk II is depicted in stylized, exoticized Renaissance/early modern attire—featuring a soft, plumed hat, a heavy brocade cloak, and a prominent beard—conforming to 17th- and 18th-century conventions for representing medieval nobility rather than authentic 10th-century dress.

Centered below the portrait is the historical coat of arms of the County of Holland: a lion rampant within a shield, surmounted by a count's coronet.
