Grabado a buril característico de la escuela francesa de retratos formales y altamente estructuradas del Barroco tardío. Las ricas texturas del mantel de terciopelo, el efecto de vetas de madera en el suelo y el preciso tramado cruzado en los drapeados son señas de identidad clásicas del estilo del taller de Trouvain.
Intaglio engraving, characteristic of the formal, highly structured French portrait school of the late Baroque period. The rich textures of the velvet tablecloth, the wood grain effect on the floor, and the precise cross-hatching on the drapery are classic hallmarks of Trouvain’s workshop style.

El arzobispo aparece representado en su estudio, sentado en un sillón tapizado de respaldo alto con ribetes de flecos. Viste atuendo clerical, que incluye roquete, mozzarella y solideo. Su mano derecha descansa sobre un libro abierto en un escritorio cubierto con una tela gruesa y con flecos. Un tintero, una pluma y una pila de grandes volúmenes en folio resaltan su erudición y su posición administrativa.
The Archbishop is depicted in his study, seated in a high-backed, upholstered armchair with fringed trimming. He wears clerical attire, including a rochet, mozzetta, and a skullcap (calotte). His right hand rests on an open book on a desk covered with a heavy, fringed textile. An inkwell, quill, and a stack of large folio volumes emphasize his erudition and administrative status.
