Primer plano derecho (El mando):
Un comandante militar de alto rango monta un caballo finamente engalanado. Viste un distintivo sombrero con plumas, una chaqueta de cuero y botas típicas de la caballería de mediados del siglo XVII, y sostiene un bastón de mando. Junto a él, un oficial de infantería o guía señala hacia un enfrentamiento o maniobra de posicionamiento a lo lejos, en el extremo derecho. Un tamborilero militar y un denso grupo de piqueros y mosqueteros portando grandes estandartes los flanquean.

Fondo y primer plano izquierdo (La logística):
Esta sección representa la compleja logística de un ejército de principios de la Edad Moderna en movimiento. Destaca un tren de equipajes, con pesados ​​carros de madera tirados por bueyes y caballos, acompañados por soldados y seguidores del campamento.

El horizonte (El objetivo/Escenario):

El Grupo Central:
Un conjunto de figuras —entre ellas ancianos barbudos y con túnicas, y jóvenes— se encuentran enclavadas en una densa nube, tras un sencillo parapeto o estructura rectangular.
La Figura de la Trompeta:
A la derecha, una figura femenina de estilo clasicista (que suele representar a la Fama, una Musa o una Sibila profética) toca una trompeta recta (tubae), dirigiendo su atención hacia el grupo central.
La Visión Celestial:
En la parte superior izquierda, dentro de un círculo perfecto (un tondo), se representan una figura masculina sentada y una figura femenina dinámica (frecuentemente asociadas con temas de la creación, como Júpiter y Juno, o una representación clásica de Adán y Eva).

CONCINO CONSINI  ( 1569 - 1617 )

Concino Concini (c. 1569 – 1617) fue una figura histórica italiana que alcanzó un enorme poder en la corte francesa como favorito de la reina regente María de Médici.
Alcanzó el grado de Mariscal de Francia (pese a no haber estado nunca en el campo de batalla) y el titulo de Marqués de Ancre. Debido a su enorme influencia y la acumulación de riquezas, se ganó la enemistad de la nobleza y del joven rey Luis XIII, quien finalmente ordenó su arresto y posterior asesinato en los accesos al Palacio del Louvre en 1617.

Concino Concini (c. 1569 – 1617), an Italian historical figure who achieved enormous power at the French court as a favorite of the regent queen Marie de Medici.

Concino Concini was named Marshal of France (despite never having seen combat) and Marquis of Ancre. Due to his enormous influence and accumulated wealth, he earned the enmity of the nobility and the young King Louis XIII, who ultimately ordered his arrest and subsequent assassination at the entrance to the Louvre Palace in 1617.

OBSERVACIONES / OBSERVATIONS :

El grabado está diseñado con una estructura alegórica y militar muy típica de los retratos de dignatarios de los siglos XVII y XVIII:


  • En la parte superior:

  • Se aprecian elementos de una panoplia militar que refuerzan su estatus político y bélico, incluyendo armaduras de corte clásico (estilo romano), cascos con penachos, banderas desplegadas y lo que parecen ser fasces o fajos de armas atados.


  • En la parte inferior:

  • Aparece una escena alegórica compuesta por varias figuras. Se observan representaciones de virtudes o personificaciones que sostienen antorchas y trompetas de la fama, mientras que en los extremos inferiores se representan figuras derrotadas o sometidas en el suelo, simbolizando el triunfo o el poder absoluto sobre sus detractores.


The engraving is designed with an allegorical and military structure typical of portraits of dignitaries from the 17th and 18th centuries:

At the top:
Elements of a military panoply reinforce his political and military status, including classically styled armor (Roman style), helmets with plumes, unfurled banners, and what appear to be fasces or bundles of weapons tied together.
At the bottom:
An allegorical scene composed of several figures appears. Representations of virtues or personifications holding torches and trumpets of fame are visible, while at the bottom edges, defeated or subdued figures lie on the ground, symbolizing triumph or absolute power over his detractors.

Es posible que las posteriores ediciónes de la publicación aparecidas en Amberes alrededor del siglo XVIII usaran las planchas de la primera  edicion aparecida en el siglo XVII.

It si possible that later editions of the publications that appreared in Antwerp around  the 18th century used the plates of the first edition that appeared in the 17th century.
