Inmediatamente detrás, un soldado sostiene un estandarte con las siglas S.P.Q.R. (Senatus Populusque Romanus), el símbolo por excelencia de la autoridad del Senado y el pueblo de Roma.
Figuras Ecuestres:
En la sección central y derecha, destaca un personaje barbado con túnica militar que monta a caballo, guiado por un soldado provisto de armadura clásica (coraza y casco con cimera) que sujeta las riendas. Al fondo a la derecha se vislumbra otra montura y más soldados del séquito.
Fondo Arquitectónico y Paisajístico:
La composición se ambienta con elementos que evocan la topografía clásica y triunfal: un tronco de árbol seco, una columna estriada exenta con capitel compuesto o corintio, y la silueta piramidal que sugiere un monumento funerario o un obelisco.
