Iohannes Beuckel von Leyden , fue un lider religioso y teólogo del movimiento anabaptista Holandés de la ciudad de Münster proclamandose rey de Nueva Jerusalén,expulso los católicos de la ciudad y confisco todas sus propiedades, el principe obispo de Múnster, Osnasbrück y Minden Franz von Waldeck al mando de un ejercito católico sitio la ciudad, derrotando el ejercito de Von Leyden, este fallecio ejecutado salvajemente delante de la iglesia de San Lamberto donde sus restos fueron expuestos por un periodo de 50 años.
