La publicación de la obra Galerie du Musée Napoleón fue un importate catalogo del Louvre iustrado de forma lujosa durante la epoca Napoleonica entre los años 1805 y 1810 por Antoine Filhol , durante la cual el Louvre fue conocido como Galerie Musée Napoleón , enriquecido con los diferentes botines de guerra se convirtió en el mejor museo del mundo , algunos de sus nuevos fondos fueron repatriados tras el tratado de Viena de 1815, dejando la presente obra como testimonio de su breve apogeo, sus grabados fueron realizados por los mas ilustres e importantes artistas del momento.

The publication of the work Galerie du Musée Napoleon was an important illustrated catalog of the Louvre and published in the Napoleonic era between 1805 and 1810 by Antoine Filhol, during which it was known as Galerie Musée Napoleon, enriched with the various spoils of war became the best museum in the world, some of its new funds were repatriated after the Treaty of Vienna in 1815, leaving this work as testimony of its brief heyday, his prints were made by the most illustrious and important artists of the time.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY

Tomás de Villanueva:

Representado en el medallón oval superior con vestiduras clericales, identificando al santo, erudito y arzobispo agustino de Valencia conocido como Elemosinario.

Prudencia (Izquierda):

Personificada por una figura femenina que sostiene un espejo (símbolo de autoconocimiento y prudencia) y una serpiente.

Fe/Religión (Derecha):

Representada por una figura femenina que porta una maqueta de una iglesia o relicario y sostiene una cruz o báculo.

Escudo papal:

Situado en la parte inferior central, sostenido por dos putti alados sentados, que indican la autorización o dedicación papal.

Emblemas agustinos:

Los paneles a ambos lados de la base presentan el corazón atravesado por una flecha y coronado por una cruz, emblema central de la Orden de San Agustín.

Arquitectura clásica:

Estructurada como un frontispicio triunfal romano con un frontón partido, ángeles alados, columnas y una base de pedestal grabada.

Depicted in the top oval portrait medallion wearing clerical vestments, identifying the saint, scholar, and Augustinian Archbishop of Valencia known as Elemosinario (The Almsgiver). Prudence (Left):

Personified by a female figure holding a mirror (symbol of self-knowledge and circumspection) and a serpent.
Faith / Religion (Right):
Represented by a female figure carrying a model of a church or reliquary shrine and holding a tall cross or staff.
Papal Coat of Arms:

Positioned at the bottom center, supported by two seated winged putti, signaling papal authorization or dedication. Augustinian Emblems:

Panels on either side of the base feature the heart pierced by an arrow and topped with a cross, the central emblem of the Order of Saint Augustine. Classical Architecture:

Structured as a Roman triumphal frontispiece with a broken pediment, winged angels, columns, and an engraved pedestal base.

Maximilien Sebastien Foy was a French writter, military, Knight of The Order of Saint Louis and Grand Officer of The Legion of Honor.

Retratado:

General Maximilien Sébastien Foy (1775-1825), líder militar francés durante las Guerras Revolucionarias Francesas y Napoleónicas, quien posteriormente se convirtió en un destacado diputado liberal en la Cámara de Diputados durante la Restauración Borbónica. Representación y vestimenta:

Retrato de medio cuerpo, de perfil izquierdo. Viste una túnica militar de cuello alto con motivos bordados (típicos de los oficiales y generales franceses de alto rango de las épocas napoleónica y de la Restauración), una corbata de cuello alto y un abrigo cruzado de gran peso con botones metálicos estampados. Postura y expresión:

Mirada digna y reflexiva, que refleja tanto su distinción militar como su respetado estatus como orador y estadista.

General Maximilien Sébastien Foy (1775–1825), French military leader during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, who later became a prominent liberal deputy in the Chamber of Deputies during the Bourbon Restoration.

Depiction & Costume:

Half-length / bust-length portrait facing three-quarters to the left. He is shown wearing a high-collared military tunic featuring embroidered standing collar motifs (typical of high-ranking French officers/generals of the Napoleonic/Restoration eras), a high neck stock/cravat, and a heavy double-breasted coat with patterned metallic buttons.
