Hieronim Savanarola fue un fraile Dominico Italiano, confesor del gobernador de florencia Lorenzo de Médici y organizador de la hoguera de las vanidades de 1497 donde se quemaron objetos de lujo y libros considerados inmorales, predico contra los lujos de la iglésia y su corrupción se enfrento al Papa Alejandro VI lo que le valió la excomunión y la ejecución en la hoguera en 1498.

Hieronim Savanarola was an Italian Dominican friar, confessor to the governor of Florence Lorenzo de Medici, and organiser of the Bonfire of the Vanities in 1497, where luxury items and books considered immoral were burned. He preached against the luxuries of the church and its corruption, confronting Pope Alexander VI, which earned him excommunication and execution at the stake in 1498.

Retrato de medio cuerpo, de tres cuartos de perfil hacia la derecha, enmarcado en un prominente marco ovalado con inscripciones en latín, sobre un cartucho ornamentado de estilo barroco con motivos de volutas. Insignias y vestimenta: Corona:

Luce una corona real de múltiples puntas sobre un velo que cae en cascada sobre su cuello y hombros, denotando tanto su rango real como su noble modestia.

Vestimenta:

Viste un vestido de cuello alto bajo un pesado manto real ribeteado de armiño o piel, sujeto al frente.

Composition:

Half-length portrait depicted three-quarters turn to the right, enclosed within a prominent Latin-inscribed oval frame resting on an ornate Baroque-style scrollwork cartouche.

Wears a multi-pointed royal coronet atop a veil that cascades over her neck and shoulders, denoting both her royal rank and noble modesty.

Garments:

Attired in a high-collared gown beneath a heavy royal mantle trimmed with ermine or fur, secured at the front.
