ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY :
El joven David se yergue triunfante sobre el enorme cuerpo caído del filisteo, Goliat. Alza una gran espada curva —históricamente representada como un alfanje o cimitarra— para decapitar al gigante con su propia arma.

Trasfondo:
A la derecha, se aprecian las tiendas del campamento filisteo. Tras la caída de su campeón, el ejército filisteo se dispersa y huye despavorido, perseguido por las fuerzas israelitas que emergen de la cima boscosa a la izquierda.

The young David stands triumphantly over the massive, fallen body of the Philistine , Goliath. He raises a large, heavily curved sword—historically depicted as a falchion or scimitar—to decapitate the giant with his own weapon.

The Background Narrative:
To the far right, the tents of the Philistine camp are visible. Following the fall of their champion, the Philistine army is shown breaking ranks and fleeing in panic, pursued by the Israelite forces emerging from the wooded high ground on the left.

ARTEMISA DE ÉFESO

En la mitología Griega Artemisa era la deidad de la caza y de la naturaleza, era condiderada la protectora de los partos entre otras virtudes, hija de Zeus y Leto fue hermana melliza del Dios Apolo.

In Greek mythology Artemisa was the deity of hunting nature and protector of childbirth amongs othrt virtues, daugster of Zeus and Leto was twin sister of the God Apollo. 

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY
Tema central:
La estatua de culto de Artemisa (Diana) de Éfeso, representada en su forma iconográfica polimastoide (con múltiples senos), que simboliza la fertilidad y la naturaleza. Su torso (polos/vaina) está adornado con motivos de animales (ciervos, toros, leones, pegasos), flanqueado por dos ciervos, y reposa sobre un pedestal liso. Tema de la derecha:
Una figura masculina desnuda atada a un árbol con los brazos atados por encima de la cabeza. Iconográficamente, representa al sátiro Marsias (castigado por Apolo) o a San Sebastián, adaptado a un motivo clásico. Sin embargo, en un contexto antiguo, junto a Diana de Éfeso, suele aludir a Marsias o a una alegoría simbólica de la naturaleza y el cautiverio/sacrificio.

Central Subject:
The cult statue of Artemis (Diana) of Ephesus, depicted in her polymastoid (multi-breasted) iconographic form symbolizing fertility and nature. Her lower body (polos/sheath) is adorned with registers of animals (stags, bulls, lions, pegasi), flanked by two stags, and resting on a blank pedestal.

Right Subject:
A nude male figure tied to a tree with his arms bound above his head. Iconographically, this represents either the satyr Marsyas (punished by Apollo) or Saint Sebastian transposed into a classical motif, though in an antiquarian context alongside Diana of Ephesus, it frequently references Marsyas or a symbolic allegory of nature and captivity/sacrifice.
