Louis-Isaac le Maitre de Sacy fue un humanista y teólogo Francés, realizo la traducción al Francés de la biblia mas difundida en el siglo XVIII en Francia, la denominada Biblia de Sacy o de Port Royal, fue una figura destacada dentro del Jansenismo .

Louis-Isaac le Maitre de Sacy was a French humanist and theologian, he made the translation into French of the most widespread bible in the 18th century in France, the so-called Bible of Sacy or Port Royal, he was a leading figure in Jansenism.

Michel le Tellier fue un eclesiástico, político, humanista y moralista Francés, confesor particular del Rey Luis XIV de Francia,, rector del Colegio Clermont de París, provincial de los Jesuitas de Francia, y miembro de la Academia de buenas letras de París.

Michel le Tellier was a French eccesiastic, politician, humanist and moralist, private confessor to King Louis XIV of France, rector of the Clermont College in Paris, provincial of the Jesuits of France, and member of The Academy of good letters of Paris.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY :

Le Tellier aparece representado con la indumentaria clerical estándar de la Compañía de Jesús: una sotana sencilla, un cuello liso y un solideo. El estilo de Desrochers es muy característico en esta obra, donde emplea una técnica de buril precisa y limpia con un sombreado cruzado sistemático para crear profundidad tonal en el fondo y un modelado suave en el rostro, enfatizando las expresiones notoriamente austeras y serias de Le Tellier, tal como las registraron observadores contemporáneos como el duque de Saint-Simon.

Le Tellier is depicted in standard clerical attire for a member of the Society of Jesus: a simple cassock, a plain collar (collet), and a skullcap (calotte). Desrochers' style is highly characteristic here, utilizing a tight, clean burin technique with systematic cross-hatching to create tonal depth in the background and soft modeling on the face, emphasizing Le Tellier's notoriously austere and austere expressions as recorded by contemporary observers like the Duc de Saint-Simon.

Jules Romain o Giulio Romano fue un pintor, arquitecto y escultor Italiano del Siglo XVI, alumno predilecto y colaborador de Rafael es considerado uno de los fundadores del Manierismo.

El presente retrato fue realizado en la segunda mitad del Siglo XVI, adquirido para la colección real de Luis XIV de Francia por el banquero y coleccionista de arte Everhard Jabach ( 1618- 1695), actualmente el lienzo esta depositado en los fondos del Museo del Louvre de Paris.

Jules Romain or Giulio Romano was an Italian painter, architect and sculptor of the sixteenth century, favorite pupil and collaborator of Raphael is considered one of the founders of Mannerism.

The present portrait was painted in the second half of the 16th century, acquired for the royal collection of Louis XIV of France by the banker and art collector Everhard Jabach (1618-1695), the canvas is currently deposited in the collection of the Louvre Museum in Paris.

La publicación de la obra Galerie du Musée Napoleón fue un importate catalogo del Louvre iustrado de forma lujosa durante la epoca Napoleonica entre los años 1805 y 1810 por Antoine Filhol , durante la cual el Louvre fue conocido como Galerie Musée Napoleón , enriquecido con los diferentes botines de guerra se convirtió en el mejor museo del mundo , algunos de sus nuevos fondos fueron repatriados tras el tratado de Viena de 1815, dejando la presente obra como testimonio de su breve apogeo, sus grabados fueron realizados por los mas ilustres e importantes artistas del momento.

The publication of the work Galerie du Musée Napoleon was an important illustrated catalog of the Louvre and published in the Napoleonic era between 1805 and 1810 by Antoine Filhol, during which it was known as Galerie Musée Napoleon, enriched with the various spoils of war became the best museum in the world, some of its new funds were repatriated after the Treaty of Vienna in 1815, leaving this work as testimony of its brief heyday, his prints were made by the most illustrious and important artists of the time.
