La Bíblia describe a David como un Rey justo, fue elejido por Dios para gobernar Israel , parece vivió entre los años 1040 y 996 A.C., se le representa con un arpa dando lugar a la felicidad y la justicia, cuenta la leyenda que sus cuerdas musicales conectaban el mundo terrenal con el celestial.

The Bible describes David as a just King, he was chosen by god to rule Israel, he seem to have lived between 1040 and 996 A.C. He is represented with a harp giving rise to happiness and justice, the legend says that his musical strings connected the earthly world with the heavenly one.

Louis IV fue Rey de Francia Oriental y Lotaringia e hijo de Arnulfo de Carintia fue el último representante Carolingio de la Francia Oriental.

Louis IV son of Arnulf of Carintia, King of Eastern France and Lotaringia, was the last Carolingian representative of  eastern France.

ICONOGRAFÍA / ICONOGRAPHY :

El retrato de perfil está enmarcado en un marco ovalado que imita la piedra (estilo camée), sobre un pedestal clásico integrado que contiene el título. Este diseño fue muy popular para las láminas destinadas a genealogías reales de varios volúmenes, tratados históricos o diccionarios biográficos (como los de Dreux du Radier, Isaac Bullart o editoriales históricas similares).

The profile portrait is enclosed in a faux-stone oval frame (en camée style), resting on an integrated classical pedestal containing the title. This layout was immensely popular for plates intended for multi-volume royal genealogies, historical treaties, or biographical dictionaries (such as those by Dreux du Radier, Isaac Bullart, or similar historical publishers).

Louis XV apodado el buen amado fue Rey de Francia y de Navarra de 1710 a 1774, Duque d'Anjou y coprincipe de Andorra entre otros títulos nobiliarios, durante su minoria de edad Francia fue gobernada por su primo Felipe de Orleans como regente de Francia ( 1674 - 1723 )

Louis XV nicknamed The Good Beloved was King of France amd Navarre from 1710 to 1774, Duke of Anjou and Co-prince of Andorra among other noble titles, during his minotity France was ruled by his cousin Philippe d'Orleans as regent of France  ( 1674 - 1723 )

Estructura: 

Sigue el modelo clásico del retrato regio barroco y clasicista francés. El joven monarca se inscribe dentro de un óvalo o tondo perfilado por una moldura, dispuesto sobre un suntuoso pedestal arquitectónico calcáreo que funciona como cartela para la inscripción identificativa. 

 Atuendo e insignias: 

A pesar de su corta edad, viste ricas telas brocadas con motivos florales (típicas de la corte de la Regencia y los inicios de su reinado efectivo). Porta la banda de la Orden del Espíritu Santo (Ordre du Saint-Esprit) cruzando su pecho, y la placa heráldica correspondiente cosida a la casaca. Su mano derecha reposa firmemente sobre la corona real, que descansa en un cojín a la izquierda, reafirmando la legitimidad de su soberanía institucional.

Structure:

It follows the classic model of the French Baroque and Classicist royal portrait. The young monarch is depicted within an oval or tondo framed by a molding, set upon a sumptuous limestone architectural pedestal that serves as a cartouche for the identifying inscription.

Attire and insignia:

Despite his young age, he wears rich brocaded fabrics with floral motifs (typical of the Regency court and the beginning of his effective reign). He wears the sash of the Order of the Holy Spirit (Ordre du Saint-Esprit) across his chest, and the corresponding heraldic badge is sewn onto his coat. His right hand rests firmly on the royal crown, which sits on a cushion to the left, reaffirming the legitimacy of his institutional sovereignty

Grabado al burin (talla dulce) combinado con una base de aguafuerte para las texturas del fondo y las sombras más profundas. El trabajo de líneas cruzadas (contre-tailles) en los hábitos negros revela una técnica artesanal francesa muy cuidada para generar volumen y el brillo satinado de los textiles oscuros.

Engraving on the burin (intaglio) combined with an etching base for the background textures and deeper shadows. The cross-hatching (contre-tailles) on the black habits reveals a meticulous French artisanal technique for creating volume and the satiny sheen of the dark textiles.
