Analísis Iconografico :
La escena muestra el matrimonio espiritual entre Santa Catalina y el Niño Jesús:
*La Virgen María y el Niño:
María sostiene en su regazo a un Niño Jesús de aspecto tierno y rizado, quien extiende su mano para colocar el anillo nupcial en el dedo de la santa.
*Santa Catalina de Alejandría:
Aparece de rodillas, en una actitud de profunda humildad y devoción, recibiendo el anillo. En la parte inferior de su manto se aprecian los fragmentos de la rueda dentada, su principal atributo de martirio, rota por la intervención divina antes de ser decapitada.
*El entorno:
Siguiendo el estilo clasicista de Albani, la escena no se sitúa en un interior regio, sino en un paisaje abierto y equilibrado con árboles y un fondo de colinas suaves bajo un marco octogonal, lo que acentúa el tono lírico y cercano de la devoción barroca.

Mary holds a tender-looking, curly-haired Infant Jesus on her lap, who reaches out his hand to place the wedding ring on the saint’s finger.
*Saint Catherine of Alexandria:
She is depicted on her knees, in an attitude of profound humility and devotion, receiving the ring. At the bottom of her cloak, fragments of the cogwheel—her principal attribute of martyrdom, broken by divine intervention before she was beheaded—can be seen.
*The setting:
In keeping with Albani’s classical style, the scene is not set in a regal interior, but in an open, balanced landscape with trees and a backdrop of rolling hills within an octagonal frame, which accentuates the lyrical and intimate tone of Baroque devotion.

En la esquina inferior derecha se alcanza a leer parcialmente la firma de la dinastía de grabadores Poilly (muy probablemente François de Poilly o su hermano Nicolas de Poilly, activos en París en el siglo XVII), quienes se especializaron en reproducir las obras de maestros italianos y franceses con una técnica de líneas limpia y una gradación tonal muy cuidada.
In the bottom right-hand corner, one can make out part of the signature of the Poilly family of engravers (most likely François de Poilly or his brother Nicolas de Poilly, who were active in Paris in the 17th century), who specialised in reproducing the works of Italian and French masters using a clean line technique and meticulous tonal shading.

Por las características del mercado de estampas parisino de la calle Saint-Jacques, esta hoja en concreto es una producción del siglo XVIII (probablemente de la primera mitad o mediados), estampada a partir de una matriz grabada a finales del siglo XVII que reproducía el lienzo previo de Francesco Albani. El número n. 62 en el margen derecho indica que formaba parte de una serie o colección encuadernada de vidas de santos o de estampas devocionales.
Given the characteristics of the Parisian print market on Rue Saint-Jacques, this particular sheet dates from the 18th century (probably the first half or the mid-18th century), printed from a plate engraved in the late 17th century that reproduced Francesco Albani’s earlier painting. The number 62 in the right-hand margin indicates that it was part of a bound series or collection of lives of the saints or devotional prints.
