TÉCNICA / TECHNIQUE:
Grabado al aguafuerte con retoques de buril. Las líneas suaves y fluidas del follaje y los tonos de piel son característicos del grabado clasicista holandés de finales del siglo XVII, donde el aguafuerte sentó las bases y el grabado proporcionó profundos contrastes tonales.
Cum Privil[egio] Ordin[um] General[ium] Belgii Foederati: "Con el privilegio (protección de derechos de autor) de los Estados Generales de las Provincias Unidas de los Países Bajos." Etching with burin engraving cleanup. The soft, fluid lines in the foliage and the flesh tones are characteristic of late 17th-century Dutch classicist printmaking, where etching laid the groundwork and engraving provided deep tonal contrasts.

La estampa representa una animada escena de putti jugando en un entorno pastoral junto al agua, un tema frecuentemente utilizado en el siglo XVII para alegorizar la inocencia de la juventud, la Edad de Oro o motivos elementales/estacionales específicos.
La danza central:
Cinco putti se toman de las manos en una dinámica ronde (danza circular) alrededor de un prominente tronco de árbol, mostrando el dominio característico de Lairesse de la anatomía clásica, el escorzo sinuoso y la suave y rítmica drapeada.
El fondo izquierdo:
Un arco triunfal o portal de estilo clasicista se alza cerca del agua. Frente a él, un putto blande un gran instrumento de madera (posiblemente una paleta de lavar, un remo o un mazo utilizado en las primeras formas de golf/billar de suelo).
El primer plano (Agua/Esclusa):
En la parte inferior izquierda, un niño se sienta en una pequeña estructura de madera o barca junto a una balaustrada ornamentada, mientras otro tira o dirige.
